LED Lighting Industry is fighting!


China’s Ministry of Science and Technology has upgraded its plan from’ 100,000 LEDs, Ten Cities’ to ‘ 2,000,000 LEDs, Fifty Cities’ in 2010. The Chinese market of street lighting reaches a capacity of 28 million in 2009 with 3-4million replacement every year. As an emerging industry, LED lighting provides great business opportunities for LED enterprises both home and abroad! In addition, the Chinese government carries on the policy of subsidy of the 30-50% added value for LED lighting companies according to their technical efficiency, energy-saving effects and profits in economy and for society, which boosts the marching of LED lighting!


However, the development of a new industry in China is not smoothing! We are troubled by patent monopolization, yield blowout, lack of core techniques and uncertainty for policies and standards. Leading companies such as Nichia, Toyoda-Gosei, Cree, Philips, Osram are competing fiercely for the core techniques in chips and packaging which greatly frustrated Chinese companies. The common development in technical innovation and completion of policies and standards has already become a tough and challenging task for China’s LED Lighting Industry with the purpose of being the leading countries in scale and 500 billion outputs before 2015!
